Dear Supporters, here is the latest update from the YPG charity…
What’s happening at The Hub?
It is now 6 weeks since The Hub opened, and in this very short time Barnardo’s have been surprised with the number of children already seeking support,
and also the intensive and high-end issues presenting to the service. The types of issues include:
- experiencing violence
- caring responsibilities for siblings and adults
- young girls with older boyfriends
- general safeguarding issues
- need for support with involvement in criminal justice system
- bullying and problems with transition to new school
It is fair to say that the service has definitely “hit the ground running” and the service is already making a difference to the lives of some very vulnerable young people. We are only able to do this because of your support – so many, many thanks for this.
Open Day at The Hub…
We are holding an “Open Lunch” on THURSDAY NOVEMBER 1st, 12-p.m. when anyone can come and see what we’re up to at The Hub. If you have not yet had an opportunity to pop in and meet the Barnardo’s staff and see our wonderful bespoke centre then do come and and join us for a sandwich and a drink. We’d be delighted to see you, answer any questions and show you around the Centre.
Many thanks to everyone who continues to support our project and help us make a difference to children’s futures.
With regard to recent events we should like to thank:
Investec Private Bank for sponsoring our “Back to Broadway” musical evening: this raised £12,000 for YPG and had the whole room dancing and cheering.
A great night out was had by all and we are already planning our next musical evening for October 2013. Watch this space…
The Directors of Livingroom for their creation and sponsorship of the “Living Art” competition which generated such wonderful and original art pieces and raised £5,000 for YPG!
Bedell Cristin for their surprise gift of a £5,000 donation on the day the Hub launched.
On 9 November 2012, the Sydney Charles Charitable Foundation are hosting an amazing Ball for which YPG is the benefitting charity. We are hugely grateful to Philip Lepp and the Sydney Charles Group for supporting us in this way and we will have lots of news about the event in our next update.
We really hope to see lots of you on 1st November, but should you have any questions/comments/feedback about YPG and the Barnardo’s service at The Hub, please do get in touch using the ‘Contact Us’ tab at any time.
